The World Test Championship:

As part of this, Team India will play five matches against England. Thus, this WTC cycle will continue for two years.

South Africa won the ICC trophy after a long time by winning this match. However, with South Africa getting a berth in the final.. The WTC format has been receiving criticism from cricket experts and fans lately. There is also a lot of dis-satisfaction with the points system and the schedule of matches. There has been criticism that South Africa has reached the final more easily than Australia.

It is in this background that South African star cricketer AB de Villiers has raised objections to the WTC format. He said that there is a need to make changes in the WTC format. He said that not all teams play the same way.. This is not the right method. However, de Villiers said that the recent victory of the South African team in the WTC is a great thing. He praised the team for working hard and they deserve to win. He said that this is a matter of pride for South African cricket fans.

“There is a need to make as many changes as possible (in the WTC format) and I have seen the schedule after the WTC. It should be as fair as possible to the countries that are eligible to play Tests,” said de Villiers.
