TCS Expands Focus on Software-Defined Vehicle Technologies

TCS Expands Global Footprint in Software-Defined Vehicles with New Centres in Europe

On Friday, June 20, 2025, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a significant expansion of its capabilities in the fast-growing Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) domain. As part of this initiative, the company has established two new Automotive Delivery Centres in Germany — located in Munich and Villingen-Schwenningen — along with a new engineering centre in Romania.

According to the company, the German delivery centres will play a key role in supporting automotive manufacturers by providing software-driven services across areas such as autonomous driving, infotainment, vehicle safety systems, and connected mobility technologies. The Romania-based engineering centre, meanwhile, will focus on developing cutting-edge automotive software platforms, with an emphasis on early-stage innovation and design.

This strategic expansion aligns with TCS’s long-term vision to enhance its end-to-end automotive software capabilities, including chip-to-cloud technologies and integrated digital services.

“These new centres will place TCS at the forefront of automotive innovation,” said Regu Ayyaswamy, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Engineering at TCS. “They will enable us to deliver next-generation solutions in autonomous driving and advanced cockpit systems, reinforcing our leadership in the Software-Defined Vehicles space.”

Anupam Singhal, President and Business Group Head, Manufacturing, added, “The transition to software-defined vehicles marks a transformative phase for the automotive sector. Through these centres, we are reaffirming our commitment to helping OEMs develop intelligent, connected, and sustainable vehicles.”

TCS views this expansion as a major milestone in its journey toward “Future-Ready Mobility” — a vision where software, engineering, and AI-driven design come together to create safer, more personalised, and continually evolving driving experiences.

The company also highlighted its longstanding presence in Europe, serving global automotive clients for over 45 years. TCS currently employs more than 15,000 professionals across the continent.
