“The Defence Minister emphasized that Operation Sindoor underscores India’s resolve, making it clear to Pakistan that their ‘death by a thousand cuts’ strategy will not prevail.”
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a strong warning to Pakistan, stating that any future terrorist attack on Indian soil would result in serious consequences. He emphasized that Operation Sindoor is still ongoing, and India is fully prepared to take decisive action against terrorism.
Speaking to soldiers of the Udhampur-based Northern Command during an event marking International Yoga Day, Singh highlighted that Operation Sindoor was a stern message to Pakistan — their long-standing strategy of a “thousand cuts” against India will not succeed.
“Operation Sindoor is not over yet,” Singh declared, with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi by his side. “Through this mission, we have made it clear to Pakistan that continued terrorism against India will no longer be tolerated. Our response will escalate — from bad to worse.”
He further explained that under Operation Sindoor, Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during the night of May 6 and 7. This was in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists.
“Operation Sindoor is a natural continuation of India’s earlier decisive responses — the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot air strikes. With this, we have reaffirmed to Pakistan that its policy of inflicting a thousand cuts on India is doomed to fail,” Singh said.
Reiterating India’s firm stance on national security, he added, “Any act of terror on Indian soil will prove disastrous for Pakistan. India is ready to take any necessary action to eliminate terrorism at its roots.”
